The Soundtrack of Ordinary Things

Image
A door opens, nothing has happened yet but beneath the creaking hinges, the violins begin to rise—and suddenly, you know danger is lurking on the other side. A look is exchanged across a crowded room, gaze held for three seconds. Then the strings swell…dhinn.. dhinn.. and you know love is in the air ❤️ A child trips over a toy. A burst of comic music erupts. Falling flat on your face is apparently hilarious if someone scores it correctly 😉. A character sits by a window. Rain slides down the glass. They stare into the distance. The  piano begins and  suddenly, without anyone saying a word, your heart becomes heavy. That is the magic of a background score. It makes the mundane interesting, the tiring feel exhilarating. It turns a glance into longing, a silence into grief, and a simple walk through a doorway into danger. The Music doesn’t create the emotions, it finds it. I wish life had a background score, something that could tell us what we are feeling when we don’t kn...

The Mediocre Child

Image
How heavy is the weight of expectations. How heavy is the weight of disappointments. How tiring it is to walk the path of success, dragging myself from one milestone to another. I lie, I hide, I don’t let them know, I am not skipping with joy but crashing with each step Trying so hard to not be the mediocre child. Oh how blissful it could be! to be mediocre and to be accepted as one. Not expected to shine and burn like a sun, but to show up each night as moon, shining bright one day to waning away another. I wish you knew, I hope you would.

An ode to friendship!

Image
Not to the 1 AM friends, but to the ones you never call — and yet you know they’ll answer when you’re ready. Not to the ones you meet every day, but to those who live miles away, still quietly settled in your heart. Not to the ones you rush to hug, but to those who simply smile your way — and suddenly, life feels lighter. To the old friends who saw you rebel, to the ones who held you through heartbreaks, to those who shared the laughter and exhaustion of motherhood, and to the ones who have watched you grow — wiser, softer, older. To endless talks, to silent fights, to tears of laughter and the silent jokes To the friends who left too soon, to those who walked away, waiting somewhere down the road, and to the ones who walk beside you — never together, yet never apart. Here’s to friendship — to the new and the old, to the beautiful beginnings, and the never endings.

The Stars In My Sky

Disclaimer: This post is not about disappointments, it is about smiles which also happen to come along with tears. Once upon a time in a school in a small town, there was a little girl. She was just one of the many students of her class. Neither naughty nor innocent, neither teachers pet nor a pain in their neck..sitting somewhere in the middle, hiding herself. She was a happy child and had friends too, though never a best friend and how she longed for one. Enter, new girl.. pink chubby cheeks, lovely shy smile, two long pigtails bouncing when she walked, all that was missing was her angel wings.  It was love at first sight; our little girl had found her best friend and she didn't waste any time to tell her that. Time flew, the girls grew up, went to different cities for higher education. Life was happening all around them, new friends, new emotions, new possibilities, finally job and marriage. Our little girl knew that her best friend was now a mother of ...

The love of my life!

I have a confession to make. I am in love with TOMORROW . Tomorrow is the family holiday. Tomorrow is finishing the book gathering dust at bedside table. Tomorrow is when I will make the call. Tomorrow is when I will meet you. Tomorrow is a day when dreams come true (including one in which I see myself sweating it out in the gym). Tomorrow would be my first post. In the mad rush of living everyday, running to make the most of life, squeezing seconds out of every minute, when I hit the bed at night, Tomorrow is Hope . What is tomorrow for you?
